Studying English at the undergraduate level is more than satisfying your passion for the written word and enriching your knowledge about the world around you; it’s also a step toward becoming the person and professional you want to be. Our courses situate humanities skills and research within public-facing and community contexts. Our major offers concentrations in Creative Writing and Literary Studies.
The Introduction to English Studies course at AUM is designed to offer students a broad background in literary analysis and prepares students with skills in critical and creative thinking, communication, and argument. Paired with the Capstone course, students are prepared for careers in several job fields: as educators, journalists, editors, authors, lawyers, business consultants, public relations specialists, and more. Our students can think and work independently, creatively, and analytically.
At AUM, you’ll learn in a supportive environment that includes small classes and intensive, personal instruction from experienced professors who hold terminal degrees and have published significant research or creative work in their specialties.
