International Student Checklist

Before you Arrive in the US

Set up your MyAUM Account (click the link, choose “Account Activation”). You will use this username and password for all AUM-related logins, including WiFi, Email, and your MyAUM account.
Obtain your visa and plan your travel to the United States
Request your Original Transcripts and Original Degree from your previous schools
Apply for on-campus housing if you plan to live on campus. To do this, log into MyAUM, click on “Current Students”, then “Housing”

After you Arrive in the US

Visit the Office of Global Initiatives in the Administration Building, room 109.
Attend AUM’s New International Student Orientation
- At Orientation, you will:
  
  Get your AUM Student ID made
  
  Meet your academic advisor and register for classes
  
  Take the Math Placement Test if you are a first-year undergraduate student
Complete and submit the AUM Immunization Form to Warhawk Health Services
Create your BlueCross BlueShield portal to access your health insurance ID card and policy information
Open a US bank account
Get a US phone number
Get an Alabama Driver’s License, if necessary. You will need your I-20, a Good Standing Letter, your passport, and a non-eligibility form from the Social Security Administration
